Hannah’s half Hungarian household
GRACE CERVENY
A depiction of my friend Hannah’s house in North Andover, MA, during the first two weeks of quarantine after our return from studying in Rome. She welcomed me into her home because I lived so far away in England, and her house was adorned with warm decorations, some of which were Hungarian patterns, some of which were very American, both equally evocative and nostalgic. I wanted to preserve the memory of the beauty, kindness, and the familiarity of homeliness even when it’s not your house.
